With that background we received an urgent request from Y&R – UK to make a pitch book more like a coffee table book within 48 hours for a Government department & so there was no time to be imprecise.
As usual right from ideation to artwork provided by the client was impeccable. The vision was to keep the overall presentation style simple yet elegant & let the content be the HERO. Such briefs can be tricky terrain. So here’s how we executed.
Nothing beats White in elegance. So, we zeroed down on a complete white finish for the presentation box & the book. We chose a premium pure white, heavily textured paper for the box outer to give a tactile feel & white smooth silky satin fabric for the inner to create a dramatic contrast. The satin fabric was pasted loosely to retain it’s natural fall & gather inside the box. Whereas, to enhance the box look, complete pattern & text were blind debossed with a tinch of shine by adding clear foiling.
We repeated the same treatment for the book cover & used smooth special paper for the inside pages. And for more luxe touch, a few sections of inner pages were printed in metallic gold & silver. All thanks to our Xeorx irredsse production press, now we can offer the metallic prints for minimum quantity at a reasonable price.
Finally for the binding, as most images were in spreads and the page count was less, section sewing was not an option so we opted for a back to back pasted, lamba binding book where we could achieve a seamlessness of spread pages images & complete opening of the book.
Result – Voila ! Completed & delivered the project within 36 hours :))
