To create and deliver a beautifully designed, high-quality photo book as a surprise 60th birthday gift, capturing a lifetime of memories in a meaningful and tangible format.
Brief
An online enquiry from a Dubai resident temporarily residing in Canada, wanted to surprise her father with a personalized photo book for his 60th birthday. Since she wasn’t going to be available to approve the final output, she needed a print partner that she could absolutely trust to manage the entire process remotely. The project required not only creative execution but also trust, responsiveness, and coordination across time zones. With no ready-to-print files and images scattered across multiple sources, the goal was to transform raw memories into a cohesive, premium keepsake and ensure timely delivery on the special day.

Solution
We streamlined the process by asking the client to share all images in a structured format, numbered according to her preferred sequence. This enabled accurate storytelling and smooth layout development. To simplify decision-making, we provided three curated page layout options, allowing the client to select a consistent visual style for the album. Based on the volume of images, we recommended placing two to three images per page with occasional variations to maintain visual interest and narrative flow.
For production, we suggested using 200gsm coated paper with a combination of gloss and matte lamination to enhance image quality and tactile appeal. The album was finished with perfect binding and a hardcover case for durability. To elevate the final product and add a premium touch, the father’s name was embossed on the cover using foiling, giving it a refined, celebratory feel.
Outcome
The photo book was successfully printed and delivered right on time for her father’s 60th birthday, preserving the surprise element. The gift was received with great appreciation, exceeding the client’s expectations in both quality and presentation.
